Room 322, Tuesday Afternoon

After Bob's class, Anders hurried back to his room and was pleased to find he had it to himself. He exiled Lachlan to roam the halls -- exploration was good for cats, wasn't it? -- and then hurriedly straightened his side, which mostly entailed shoving dirty clothes under the bed and stacking his books and papers so they looked almost organized. He debated over the door for a moment, finally deciding to leave it halfway open.

And then he drew a ragged breath and flopped onto his bed, trying to look like he was perfectly calm and composed. He didn't entirely succeed. He was emotional at the best of times, and the sex pollen had him what felt like permanently off-balance. Though the promise of a visit from Nathan might help with that ... at least for a while.

"What would have happened?" Nathan wondered curiously. "What would you have done if I didn't lend a hand?"

"Honestly? An afternoon of me trying to jerk off while my cat stared me down," Anders admitted with a laugh. "I think he gets jealous. He doesn't have opposable thumbs."

"That sounds...so weird," Nathan told him, shaking his head. "Maybe instead of your hand, it'll be mine there. I don't know if I can do anything about the cat, though."

"You have nice hands. And I already kicked the cat out," Anders admitted. "Not sure where he went, but it's not here. I decided we traumatized him enough -- and vice versa -- the other weekend."

"Honestly, I don't know if he can go anywhere in this building and not be traumatized," Nathan said, padding a little closer. "Maybe he can hide out in a common room."

Just not the one on the fourth floor.

"He could find Rapunzel and hide under her hair for a while," Anders suggested, though he sounded like Lachlan's welfare was not at the top of his mind. "Somehow I'm not worrying about it right now."

He reached to curve a hand against the side of Nathan's waist.

"And Rapunzel could be busy," he noted, moving closer until he could loop an arm around Anders' shoulders. "Everyone else in this building seems to be busy in some way, shape, or form."

Anders almost made a face at that, because he didn't want to think about Rapunzel in that context, but Nathan's touch kept him from going too far down that path. "Maybe," he seconded, swallowing hard. "But I'm the luckiest. I get to be busy with you."

"You're so biased," Nathan remarked, sounding pleased. He reached up and slid a few fingers through Anders' hair. "So incredibly biased."

"True. But you" -- Anders gasped at that tug on his scalp, not because it hurt but because it was pleasantly intimate -- "like me that way."

He stepped even closer, almost pressed against Nathan now.

"You're very warm right now," he commented with a quiet exhale. "Your skin's so warm and soft."

Anders had shut his eyes to enjoy the moment, but they cracked open at that as he grinned. "Want to find out if that's true all over?"

"You just want to take off your clothes," Nathan teased, smirking. "Good thing that's a thing I want to see as well."

"Good thing. And I thought I was being so subtle," Anders joked, and went to sit on his bed to begin unlacing his boots.

He wasn't going to be too quick about the process. He was eager, not desperate.

"Does this mean I get to watch?" he asked, sounding intrigued by the idea.

"I'd like that," Anders said, more because he liked that note in Nathan's voice than because he'd given it much thought. Then, inspired: "But only as long as you keep your hands to yourself until I'm done."

"I think I can do that," he said, making certain that he'd follow instructions by shoving his hands into the pockets of his pants.

Nathan had such nice manners!

Anders grinned again, and went back to working on his boots -- which, as usual, took a hundred years anyhow. (He really needed to buy some easier shoes.) But eventually they and his socks were off and shoved under his bed, and he started undoing the buttons on his shirt. He glanced to Nathan from time to time as he worked, tracking the other boy's interest.

Nathan wasn't an overly expressive person by nature so Anders wouldn't see gasps or wide eyes right now. But, if he looked close enough, he'd be able to see things like a small smile or the slight chewing of his lower lip and how his eyes didn't waver.

That was all the encouragement Anders needed to keep going. He peeled his shirt over his head, fumbling with it just a bit because desire made his fingers clumsy. He rested for a moment then, palm to his own warm chest. "My heart is going like crazy now," he confessed, a little laugh in his voice.

"Is it?" Nathan asked, stepping forward and reaching a hand out to cover Anders' hand. "You nervous?"

Anders shook his head, letting that hand cover his own. His heart was indeed thumping away rather rapidly. "Just excited," he said. "Not that you didn't know this, but I still really like you."

"I had no idea," Nathan told him, shaking his head. "Imagine my surprise to find out you still like me. I had no idea at all."

That was a lie. Of course.

"I know it's a shock, but you might come to appreciate it in time," Anders intoned, then glanced down at their hands. "... and we completely forgot you weren't supposed to touch me yet."

Not that he was exactly shoving Nathan away.
