"A money thing, a desirability thing, a parental thing," Kathy said. "All those things, really. I need the tests to get into the school I want to use the tests to get out of the school I want faster. So that I can continue to get more schooling."

And this was why Kathy was sometimes a bundle of neuroses, honestly.
