Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, Saturday Afternoon

Anders had planned to go to the hotel first when he and Nathan got to town, but when the portal deposited them within sight of the ocean being inside seemed decidedly beside the point. He hesitated on the sidewalk and turned to his companion.

"Are you going to be disappointed if I want to swim before we do anything else?"

"There has to be lots of cheese," Anders said, for that was a given. "And should we get a salad to keep our diets from being too cruddy?"

"No." He shook his head. "Not today. I'd rather just eat and then go relax."

"Getting out of the sun for a while sounds nice," Anders agreed, once he'd placed his order. (Pizza, soda, no salad.) "Not that it isn't nice here, but we have all weekend."

Nathan got his pizza piled with extra cheese and got some water.

"We do have all weekend," Nathan agreed. "So, let's go eat for awhile and then relax for awhile."

Anders nodded and walked over to a bench, picking off a loose slice of pepperoni to eat it first.

"I'm actually curious to see the motel we're staying in," he said, once he'd swallowed. "It wasn't too expensive and it's close to the beach, that's all I cared about. I figured even if it was bad it'd be a good story."

"We'll get there," Nathan told him, taking his time with the food and sitting back. "It'll be there when we're done and for the rest of the weekend. It sounds fine."
