Room 322, Monday Afternoon

Anders was, of course, doing something highly important in his room after class. Something with charts and graphs and all kinds of spectacular magic.

... or he was lying on his bed, idly singing at his cat and half-watching a cooking show. (Dante had sold him on Food Truck wars, and now the taco truck was in the finale. It was of course vital Anders found out who won.)

Probably the latter thing, really. He wasn't much for highly important magic these days.

"How's tacos?" Dante called, nudging open the door. He was toting a bag of intensely sugary snacks around. "Please tell me nobody did anything with pumpkin."

He hated this time of the year. Pumpkin everywhere.

"Nothing with pumpkin, but the judges changed the rules," Anders said, frowning at his laptop. "Now they have 20 minutes to add a dessert to their menu. How is that fair?"


He actually sounded quite indignant about it.

"Did they at least get a shot at buying sweet stuff before they changed things around?" Dante said.

He walked towards his own bed. Thought about sitting down for five seconds before he just dumped the bag on there, snagged a sugary pastry out of it, and then crossed the room.

Look, if he wanted to see what was going on with the food trucks, he absolutely had to kick off his boots, step onto Anders' bed, and promptly fill up a chunk of the remaining space on the mattress. No getting around that.

"Yeah, they sent the bouncy girl to the store," Anders nodded, and sighed as if so put-upon before moving over to let Dante sit down. "Oooh. You brought snacks?"

"I brought me snacks," Dante agreed, and, grinning, promptly stuck the apple pastry thing between his teeth as he stretched out across the space offered to him.

Anders fluttered his eyelashes and put a hand on Dante's thigh. "So, no sharing?"

Dante bit off the corner of pastry he had in his mouth. He snagged the rest of it before it fell, using it to gesture in Anders' - and the laptop's - general direction. "Probably not," he said, "Unless you make a good case."

He was feeling pretty comfortable right here. Also, he had a good angle to actually keep track of the show.

Anders nudged him with an elbow. "I'm not going to offer to blow you for a pastry. I have some standards."

He was comfortable too, and not all that hungry.

Dante laughed. "Who said anything about blowing me?" he retorted. "You could've just passed me a bottle of something or let me have Lachlan for a second, you pussy-hog. Or said please."

"That's me," Anders laughed. "I'm all about the pussy."

But, because he was nice -- and because he wanted a drink anyhow -- he slid off the bed and snagged two beers out of the mini-fridge. "Here," he said, offering one to Dante. "See, I didn't even make you say please."

Lachlan took advantage of the confusion to paw hopefully at Dante's arm.

Dante stretched an arm out and snagged the beer, momentarily losing track of where he was holding the pastry (and how close it was to the pussy in question). "See, Anders, you have a problem with your mind living in the gutter," he said very seriously. "But fine, grab what you want, bag's on my bed."

"I live with you," Anders said easily, reaching over to the bag and claiming some kind of muffin. "Your dirty mind's contagious, I swear."

"Aren't cats supposed to eat meat?" said Dante absently, who turned his hand around to give Lachlan a good scritch under the chin. "--And yeah, sure. You were a fucking blushing virgin before I moved in here."

He definitely sounded like he completely and utterly did not believe that.

"You could at least sound like you believed it was possible," Anders said easily. "-- and I think so, but damned if he knows that."

"Okay, fine," Dante said, making an over-the-top show of assuming a straight face while his hand slid up over Lachlan's head and onto the cat's back. "Before I came here, you were a choir boy," he said, "Who never thought about anybody naked in his life, couldn't even dream a joke that woulda made a priest blush, and definitely never jerked off. 'Cause that makes the angels cry."

He tilted his head at Anders. "Better?"

"Much," Anders said, grinning. "Except now you're just being silly. Spirits don't care whether I touch myself."

He knew, dimly, that angels weren't exactly spirits, in the same way as Jesus wasn't Andraste. It just didn't seem to matter.

"Spoken like a guy who has never met a real nun in his life." Dante abandoned Lachlan so he could take a quick bite of his pastry. "Some people believe that."

"Some people are strange," Anders said, around the chunk of muffin in his mouth. "... and probably bored a lot."

"More like some people are fucked up and don't know how to have fun," Dante opined. He polished off his pastry, using his newly freed hand to lift up Lachlan and put the cat down on his chest. "You getting back in here? Cat's getting cold, tacos are getting made..."

"How can I say no?" Anders joked, and sprawled next to Dante.

A moment later, and it felt natural to rest his head against Dante's chest, barely staying clear of the cat. He just hoped Dante wouldn't laugh at the snuggling.

Dante... said nothing, besides giving Anders' shoulder a pat. He still felt comfortable, and Anders was nice and warm. "Other team's going with strawberry sundaes," he mused instead, watching the screen. "I might have to jump ship here."

"But chocolate," Anders argued, still in favor of the Mexican food truck. "And those fried churro things. I would pass on strawberries for that."

"I don't know you," Dante decided (while toying idly with Anders' hair, of course). "Sundae's sugar on sugar on sugar on strawberries. Churros are like a weirdly-shaped sandwich."

"You're insane," Anders said sweetly, twisting his neck a bit to encourage Dante to keep playing with his hair. "Sundaes are fine, but churros are nice and crispy."

"Somebody dropped you on your head as a kid, right?" Dante asked, sliding his thumb over the nape of Anders' neck for a second. "Crispy pizza, great. Crispy bacon, awesome. But who wants 'crispy' in a fucking desert?"
