He wasn't always good at sincerity, but his eyes showed how deeply Kathy's words had touched him -- and how firmly he felt the same. "You're just...calm," Kathy said. She reached for his hand and brushing his fingertips over her lips. "Dante gets me when I'm spiraling. He understands and can kind of...talk me down? Talk me through it? Something like that. But you help keep me from spiraling in the first place."

She shrugged, unable to explain better than that.

"You center me, too," Anders said gently, rolling the pads of his fingers over her lips. "Like ... even when things are completely insane for us, this makes sense."

Kathy nodded, pressing kisses against them. "Exactly," she said. "You're where I should be. You're home. You're family. You and Dante. When I'm with you, I'm whole. Or, at least, as close as I get these days."
