33 Apocalypse Ave, Late Sunday Afternoon

Anders' cooking skills mostly stalled out at grilled cheese and cans of soup, but the holiday season and its influx of guests had him wanting to try something new. (He was going to blame it on Kathy's influence.) He stopped by Turtle & Canary for supplies and then set up a baking station in the kitchen.

First on the list of things to try: cornflake Christmas wreaths. They seemed easy right up to the part where he started trying to shape the melted marshmallows and cereal into wreaths and found out exactly how fast a mage could get marshmallow all over every surface in the kitchen.

"What, watching me get sticky and make a fool of myself?" Anders laughed, wandering over to kiss her hello. "You have odd fantasies."

"You look delicious," Kathy told him, hooking her finger into his shirt and pulling him in. "And what's not to like about a man in the kitchen making me tasty things? Bonus if he's wearing a frilly apron and nothing else."

And then they were kissing and his lips were sweeter than marshmallows.

"I'll save that for after the guests go home," Anders murmured against her lips, and then he was too distracted by the kiss to say anything more. HIs hands were sticky as he rested fingertips on her hips.

"When is that again?" Kathy teased, when she finally pulled away. She was flushed and the kitchen was lot warmer than it had been a moment ago. "Kidding. They're welcome to stay, even if that means I have to put off my 'Magic in the Kitchen' fantasy until the New Year."

"You're going to have to tell me more about that one," Anders said, waggling his eyebrows and grinning as he stepped back. "Do I get to put on a light show? Maybe get creative with my potions?"

"Actually? Not the magic I was looking forward to," Kathy said, waggling hers right back. "But if you wanna show off a bit, I can make the time."

She followed him over to the counter, snagging s fingerful of the buttery, marshmallowy mixture he was working with. "You know, white vinegar will probably remove this all pretty fast," she said. "I'll help you clean up when you're done? But you probably don't want to be baking with vinegar fumes in your nostrils."

"And I don't think the wreaths would be improved by smelling like vinegar, either," Anders agreed. "Thanks but no thanks."

He watched her finger slide into her mouth. "How's it taste?"

Kathy took more time with that fingerful than was strictly needed, sucking all the butter and marshmallow off very slowly, eyes on him the entire time.

"Pretty tasty," she said, giving her finger a final lick after she slid it out of her mouth. "Have you not tried it yet?"

"A little bit," Anders admitted, taking a fingerful of his own. "But you make it look tastier."

"I dunno," Kathy said, "I think you make it look tastier still."

And then she was trying to maneuver his finger into her mouth instead.

...To steal the cornflake mix, sure.

Anders let his finger be guided into her mouth, rubbing it over the delicate surfaces of her lips before making contact with her tongue.

"Maybe you're right," he mused. "But I love watching you use your mouth."

Kathy's lips closed over his finger, making even more of a show with his digit that with hers. "Not as much as I love using it on you," she said when she finally pulled away, eyes dark.

Anders swallowed hard. "Careful, or I'll make you demonstrate when I'm done baking," he said. "Possibly before."

"That sounds more like a promise than a warning," Kathy said with a smile. She leaned in very close to him so her chest brushed against his. "Is it?"

Anders did not lean back at all.

"Obviously," he said. "Do you think I'd say something I didn't mean? That sounds like a way to land on the naughty list for sure."

Kathy smiled at him, leaned in for another kiss. "It's true," she said. "And men on the naughty list only get naughty presents."

That was how it went, right? Nice people got nice presents, naughty people got naughty ones?

Anders lingered over the next kiss, fingers grazing the side of her hip. "And what makes for a naughty present?" he wondered aloud.

"Whether or not it can be used to make you moan," Kathy said sweetly. She smiled up at him just as cute as pie. "Or make that noise in your throat--you know, the one I mean, right? The kind of breathy, gasping one I love?"

Anders swallowed thick in his throat. "Maybe I have an idea."

"Oh good," Kathy said. "Otherwise I'd've had to get you to demonstrate and there are a lot of people going in and out of the kitchen today."

Which obviously mean that Kathy would have had to be sneaky about it, not that she wouldn't do it.

"But yes, I think those are the ones that count as naughty presents."
