33 Apocalypse Ave, Saturday Morning

It wasn’t often that Anders was the first out of bed on a weekend, but he’d somehow managed it today. He slipped out of bed without disturbing Dante or Kathy and went for a rambling walk across the icy island, keeping an eye peeled for anything that might work in potions.

He didn’t find any plants worth gathering — he supposed that was too much to expect for February, anyhow — but he did find still-warm croissants at Jeff, GoB’s, and he reckoned that was almost as good. He put the pastries into a basket and started the coffee, enjoying the moment of peace.

Anders held up a finger "Can we stipulate that Dante has excellent hair too?" he asked.

"Of course!" Kathy said, nodding as she took a bite of croissant, a bit of chocolate smearing on her lip. After she swallowed, she added with real sincerity, "I'm lucky enough to have two best boyfriends."

Anders sighed heavily, leaning in to kiss the chocolate off her lips. "Do we need to talk about what the word best means again?"

"Well, Dante did get up complaining about my toes this morning," Kathy said, pretending to consider it. "But, no, I'm pretty sure I'm using it right."

“I can’t blame him for that,” Anders said. “I’ve never been quite sure how your feet are always that cold.”

"Clearly I just need more warming up," Kathy said, giving him an innocent smile--as one foot started sliding up his inner calf. "There is a saying, you know. 'Cold body warm heart'? Pretty apt."

"I've never heard that," Anders informed her seriously. "I might need a demonstration before I believe it."

"You don't think you've gotten an ample demonstration of just how very warm I can be on the inside?" Kathy asked, trying to look like she hadn't meant that in the most filthy way possible.

"That may actually be the dirtiest thing you've ever said to me," Anders said. "I'm scandalized."

"Really?" Kathy asked. "Clearly I need to up my dirty-talk game." She leaned in and whispered something filthy and explicit in his ear.

Anders went pink.

"I didn't hear that," he lied. "Could you repeat it? Maybe with a little more detail?"

Kathy laughed and snuggled close, wrapping her arms around his waist. "What, are you looking for me to spin you a whole scenario?" she asked.

Because she could do that, absolutely.

"Yes please," Anders said, and the way she was holding him put something smug in his voice.

"Well, it definitely starts with that silk scarf you got you for Christmas," Kathy said smirking up at him. She really liked that timber in his voice, she had to admit it. "I have to admit, I really like the idea of you tied up and completely at my mercy."

"All the best stories start that way," Anders agreed. "Hmm. Would I be naked, or wearing just enough that you can peel it off?"

"Oh no, I'd definitely have to undress you," Kathy said. It was possible she'd put a lot of thought into this. "So later you can be laying with your shirt puddled around you while I ease your pants down." She paused a moment to consider. "Or just open them up enough because I'm too impatient to wait."

Either way, it would be a very pretty sight.

Anders' nether regions gave a distinct twitch at that idea.

"I could put up with that," he said. "Bet you'd have to ride me pretty hard to keep me from trying to get away, though."

"Oh absolutely," Kathy agreed. "You are a tricksy kind of fellow. I need to take extra-special care to make sure you don't escape. I wonder if scarves will be enough, or if I should get Dante to hold you instead, hmmm."

"You don't think you can take care of me one on one?" Anders pouted.

Kathy beamed at him for a moment before her smile shifted to something distinctly more wicked. "Oh, I have no doubts about my ability to handle you," she said. "And I'll be happy to show you how well anytime, sweetheart."

"I didn't have plans after breakfast," Anders said idly. "Or ... before, if you don't mind waiting for your eggs."

Kathy finished her croissant before speaking, deliberately sucking the chocolate off of each finger. "Who needs eggs?" she asked, hooking a leg around his waist to try to pull him in for a kiss.

"Definitely not me," Anders said, before giving her that kiss. His hand braced on her hip. "Eggs are a little gross anyhow."

She chuckled, nuzzling his throat. "You're too cute to argue with," she decided. "Even if you're wrong and eggs are great." She kissed him again, long and slow and languid. "But doesn't matter how good they are. You're still better."

Anders time was definitely worth pushing breakfast back a bit for.

"Eggs are great cooked, but they're slimy raw," Anders said -- or tried to say; he got distracted kissing her halfway through. "Lucky for us, we have something better to eat."
