33 Apocalypse Ave, Saturday Morning

It wasn’t often that Anders was the first out of bed on a weekend, but he’d somehow managed it today. He slipped out of bed without disturbing Dante or Kathy and went for a rambling walk across the icy island, keeping an eye peeled for anything that might work in potions.

He didn’t find any plants worth gathering — he supposed that was too much to expect for February, anyhow — but he did find still-warm croissants at Jeff, GoB’s, and he reckoned that was almost as good. He put the pastries into a basket and started the coffee, enjoying the moment of peace.

It was a decidedly sleepy-looking Dante who came padding into the living room shortly after Anders came back.

"You're up," he muttered, squinting. "But it's Saturday."

"Everyone's already up?" Kathy asked, shuffling downstairs in a heavy robe and slippers. Her hair was doing decidedly interesting things, at least on one side, and she was still rubbing the sleep out of her eyes as she groped for the coffee.
