33 Apocalypse Ave, Saturday Morning

It wasn’t often that Anders was the first out of bed on a weekend, but he’d somehow managed it today. He slipped out of bed without disturbing Dante or Kathy and went for a rambling walk across the icy island, keeping an eye peeled for anything that might work in potions.

He didn’t find any plants worth gathering — he supposed that was too much to expect for February, anyhow — but he did find still-warm croissants at Jeff, GoB’s, and he reckoned that was almost as good. He put the pastries into a basket and started the coffee, enjoying the moment of peace.

"I didn't have plans after breakfast," Anders said idly. "Or ... before, if you don't mind waiting for your eggs."

Kathy finished her croissant before speaking, deliberately sucking the chocolate off of each finger. "Who needs eggs?" she asked, hooking a leg around his waist to try to pull him in for a kiss.

"Definitely not me," Anders said, before giving her that kiss. His hand braced on her hip. "Eggs are a little gross anyhow."

She chuckled, nuzzling his throat. "You're too cute to argue with," she decided. "Even if you're wrong and eggs are great." She kissed him again, long and slow and languid. "But doesn't matter how good they are. You're still better."

Anders time was definitely worth pushing breakfast back a bit for.

"Eggs are great cooked, but they're slimy raw," Anders said -- or tried to say; he got distracted kissing her halfway through. "Lucky for us, we have something better to eat."

"Mmmm, and that you can have pretty much whenever you want it," Kathy promised, continuing to kiss her way down his neck.

"Which is always," Anders said, working his hand up the back of her neck to tangle in her thick hair. "I never don't want you."

Kathy shivered; words were always a potent force for her. Add that to a hand in her hair and it was a miracle she hadn't just pounced on him there and then. "Take me back to bed?" she murmured, dropping soft kisses over his collarbone.
