The House in Limbo City, Late Wednesday Afternoon

Anders was cooking dinner for Kathy.

That wasn't exactly an unknown even, but it was still rare enough that he kept double-checking the recipe for tofu tacos as he sliced and seasoned. There was already dish of black beans and a basket of chips and salsa on the table, and plenty of cold beer in the fridge for them both.

He poked at the tofu in the pan one more time, satisfied to see a dark sear forming on the underside, and called up to his girlfriend.

"Dinner looks like it's almost ready!"

"You know?" Kathy said, thoughtfully. "That sounds like fun, but I really think you were onto something with your first idea."

"I thought you might like that one," Anders said, glancing over the table. "Let's have dessert now, and clean up later."

Kathy finished her last taco, scooping up the remnants of guacamole off her plate, and then pushed her chair back. "So which one of us is dessert?" she asked, leaving her chair to eel into his, straddling his lap with a grin.

"How corny would it be if I said you, because you're sweet?" Anders wondered, hands moving up Kathy's thighs.

"One day, you two nerds'll catch on that there's nothing too corny or too sappy to make me happy," Kathy teased, nipping at his ear.

"...Though now I realize you might have literally meant dessert and need to pause in case there's cake or something I hadn't noticed."

Anders shook his head, feeling the soft brush of Kathy's hair against his cheek.

"I think we still have some ice cream," he offered. "But to be honest, I want that almost as much as I want to watch Netflix."

Kathy chuckled, continuing to kiss down his neck. "Ice cream and chill can come later," she murmured. "After you and I do."

"Well-played," Anders murmured, and brought his hands higher yet on her legs, feeling the smooth skin under her skirt.

"May not be quite the cunning linguist you are," Kathy said with a smile far too gleeful than the jokes necessarily deserved, "but I've gotten a little bit of practice in, here and there."

"You're a good teacher, too," Anders praised as his fingers edged toward where the hem of her underwear would be. "You have me speaking in all kinds of tongues."

"I like your tongue," Kathy purred, leaning down to kiss him, her hair falling around them like a dark veil.

"It likes you," Anders said, and then he lost himself in the kiss, feeling Kathy's hair surround them like silk. His lips parted as he deepened the kiss.

And her tongue took advantage of that, slipping inside to meet his again. She settled further onto his lap, lightly rocking against him, the bulge of his pants notching against the soft cotton of her underwear.

Her kiss was a teasing one, full of promise and exploration.

Anders matched the ardor of her kiss, lips pressing more firmly and then receding, pressing his teeth in now and again. He had to fight the urge to rock more firmly against her soft warmth.

He'd get there. But not yet.

Kathy slid her hands under his shirt, hands skimming over his chest. One thumb came up to to play with his nipple, the other slid around to clasp him tighter to her. Her breasts rested sweetly against his collarbone.

Better than dessert.

Anders' nipple formed a peak under that playful thumb. He parted the kiss for just long enough to lift her shirt over her head, needing to feel her skin against his.

Kathy let her shirt fall down to the ground next to their chair, taking the same moment to divest Anders from his as well. And as soon as the fabric had passed over them, she was back to clinging to his mouth, kiss much more assertive this time.

A few minutes later, she was pulling away, lips a cherry red. "I'm about to suggest we just lean back and use the table."

"Can't think of any reason we shouldn't," Anders whispered, eyes fixated on those bright lips. "It's not as if we'd shock our housemate."

They'd have to get the dishes out of the way, but Anders was about ready to just push them to the floor and clean up later.

"He might just stand in the doorway and watch," Kathy said and couldn't help a small shiver at the idea. Look, the idea of Dante watching her and Anders going at it was hot.

Hot, but still not as intoxicating as keeping Anders all to herself a bit longer.

Call her selfish, but just look at him.

"I wouldn't hate that," Anders conceded, also a little dreamy at the idea. "But not tonight."

He rose and started to clear the table as quickly as he could. He didn't want to waste time getting things back to the kitchen; he just wanted to avoid getting guacamole anyplace distracting. So leaving the stuff on a side table seemed fine.

He was clumsy as he did it. Kathy was distracting.

Yeah, Kathy definitely wasn't helping. She had taken the time to lose everything except her skirt. Just in case Anders wanted the honor of that. Or in case they decided to keep it on with nothing beneath.

And then she hopped up on the table, leaning back on her elbows, waiting for Anders to come back to her.

She was glad they'd invested in sturdy furniture.

Every cent they spent on the furniture had been money well-spent.

Anders stripped to his skin before slowly advancing on Kathy, attention focused on that tempting skirt. His fingers inched beneath it as he leaned forward to kiss her again.

Kathy melted into him, twining her limbs around him like she was just daring him to try to escape. "Touch me," she whispered between kisses, words a soft plea in his ear.

"I am," Anders said, but he knew that wasn't what she meant. His fingers moved up to her mons, probing her soft wetness as his mouth laid claim to hers.

She sighed into his mouth and her legs spread more for him, inviting further exploration. Her hands knotted into his hair, and she slowly left his mouth behind, tilting his head back to kiss his throat and chest. "I wanna touch you too..." she whispered.
