It had been a bright, clear morning when Anders and Kathy got into the portal in Fandom, and it remained bright and clear when they stumbled out of the Portalocity terminal attached to the Explorean resort.

But Mexico was hotter -- much hotter -- and the water was a clear aqua, instead of the muddy gray of Fandom's bay. Anders sighed in pleasure as he reached for Kathy's hand.

"I can already tell this is going to be a very relaxing two weeks."

"I think it does," Anders mused, and tried to capture Kathy's wrists. "I haven't bossed you around nearly enough."

Kathy couldn't hide the flare of interest that crossed her face and wouldn't have even if she could. Her wrists in his hands felt small and fragile and she looked up at him with pupils blown. "You have a point," she agreed, voice a little breathy. "I could use a firm hand or two, I think."

"I need to get you under control," Anders agreed, swiftly moving to straddle her middle while her wrists in his hands stayed firm on the mattress. His stomach felt hot with desire, and he couldn't stop watching the hungry look on her face and knowing it was for him.

"It's a shame," he said. "Good girls go bad so easily. Look away and they're round the bend." A pause. "And I think you're turning into a bad girl."

"Still making up my mind," he said. "I might start by bending you over that chair in the corner and getting you out of your panties."

Anders was holding down her arms, but she was still able to use her legs to good effect, bringing one up to stroke down his back and sides.

"I still might make trouble, even if you carry me. Definitely gonna need some correction, I think."

Anders didn't have the muscle to manhandle Kathy much further than across the room, but across the room was all he needed.

"It's true," Kathy lied, pushing herself up on her elbows to keep watching him. Damn, he was gorgeous. "And then I'll never learn."

Her foot nudged his legs, then started to glide up his inner thigh.

"Damn, you're incorrigible," Anders laughed easily, catching her foot in his hand. "I'm going to have to watch out for you."

On a whim, he dropped to his knees to plant a kiss on the sole of her foot.

Kathy's toes curled and she giggled, his lips tickling her sole. "I love you," she said, dropping the naughty girl act for a moment of genuine affection. "I just--I really love you. And I wanted you to know. I don't know why I tried to hide it for so long, before."

"You were young and foolish," Anders said, a bloom of warmth spreading through his midsection. He slid toward her midsection, the better to lift her up. "I forgive you. And I love you, too."

"Hey, I still said it first!" Kathy teased, wrapping her arms around his neck as he scooped her up. "...Unless, of course, you want to consider throwing me a prom a declaration of some sort. In which case, yeah, you win."

"I was ridiculous," Anders said tenderly. "Completely besotted. Who brings a prom to a girl?"

He stood, taking the few slow steps toward the chair. He didn't want to put her down yet.

Kathy was quite all right being in his arms for a little longer. They could get back to the game when he set her down, but for the moment, she was happy with being honest and loving. "Someone who truly cared about making her happy," she answered. "And you did. I don't want you to ever think otherwise."

"Thank you," Anders said softly, and gave himself a moment to just glow in how happy he felt with Kathy in his arms and paradise waiting right outside the window.

He kissed her on the forehead before taking another step towards the chair.

She was going to thank him for that kiss by nipping at his neck and cuddling closer, nails tracing designs on his chest. This was a moment of pure, unfettered happiness and she tucked it away in her heart as a bulwark against the tough times. "Anytime," she whispered.

It took Anders longer than he had expected to fight past the sweetness and get back into character. He cleared his throat, seeming vaguely embarrassed, and dropped her onto the chair.

"Saying pretty things isn't going to get you out of what's coming to you, you know," he warned, but couldn't quite hide his smile.

And that smile made her heart stutter in her chest, his whole face so impossibly dear to her it hurt.

"But, see, I'm being so good," Kathy said, batting her lashes at him. "Maybe I can be a good girl after all."

She sought his mouth for another scorching kiss, one of those kisses that was so easy to fall into with him. She almost forgot to bite his lower lip when she drew away, catching it between her teeth for a moment before letting go. "Oops," she said, though she hadn't bitten hard. "Guess not."
