Grossly, Tino had apparently cleaned up last week, and then spent the weekend dealing with a kid from each of those people. So that was a fun thing to find out about!

No, actually, it wasn't, and Kitty wanted to go back to being the person she was before that.

Sairis had spent the early part of last week antsy and needy, and then had decided to head somewhere remote and meditate. Instead, when he'd gotten to the top floor of the dorms, he had been eaten by a metal cabinet that Google informed him was a locker and was not supposed to eat people. Apparently he'd missed his finals, but they mostly hadn't happened.

This place was strange.

Today, though, he was back at the shop. The glowy dragon-head thing was still in the window, but the sign next to it now read, Don't ask, I just like it.

Next to that was another sign: Potions and charms available: Calm, fertility or infertility, privacy available - others by request.

Sairis was spending his time looking up what that glowy dragon-head thing actually was, but he could answer other questions!

Hey there, Fandom. It's me, ya girl Arden Finch, and...it's always a lot quieter the day after the kids go home, isn't it? Yeah...

Well, anyway, there's no School and no Dorms to report, so just a bit of stuff from Town to share. Professor Vess was with her daughter at the Infinite Consortium playing go, at least until Sairis came in asking about...carnivorous metal cabinets? Ooookayyyy, then. Kids got to eat free at Pizza Planet, which my kids appreciated when we stopped by. So weird that there are no radio notes about that! What were you squirrels even doing? Professor James brought his son with him to the Clinic, which made the nurses all happy, and Rey was in Mr. Blackwood's Grove with their daughters getting them all sugared up before sending them home. There's a thick stack of notes here about everything that they got up to, but out of respect for their privacy, I'll just say that children were adorable and goodbyes were said.

And with that, I'm out of notes, so I'll be signing off. Take care island, and enjoy emlyn's god sent me a karma which may or may not be related to the weekend. Bye!

[Me, to my manager, LJ, last week: Hey, so I'm going to Vegas next week! Fly out on Tuesday. Her: Okay! :) My Client Lead to me, today: Hey, LJ told me to send along these two high-priority assignments to you. When do you think you can get them done by? Me: lol. I'm getting into the cab to the airport in 3 hours. Not today, my guy! As I told her last week.]

Maybe not a step. Maybe a vague olive branch.

Unsurprisingly, Rey loved having the girls around. It was one of the rare weekends like this that wasn't weird or kind of traumatic. Instead, it was just nice. There would definutely be things to think about, and the timing was definitely awkward for when they were supposed to go to Beltane, but... nice.

Also Hanna could maybe be a little more forthcoming about some of the Jedi stuff in her universe but whatever.

And knowing that their time together was coming to an end, that felt like a good excuse to sugar them up on cookies before send them off. Sorry, AU future Reys and Adrians.

"How many chocolate chips should they have?" Rey asked, kind of knowing the answer.

Once again, Raiden didn't have any kids visiting this weekend. He figured that made sense, what with the being gay and not planning to reproduce in case the curse could be passed down anyway, but he liked kids, so it was kind of a bummer.

Oh, well. He'd suffered worse disappointments.

There were no classes but Stark still had a job to go to. Neri would much preferred to have slept in but Stark hadn't wanted to leave the boy alone and unsupervised. He'd eventually been bribed with the promise of coffee and donuts for breakfasts and pizza for lunch and cupcakes later.

The nurses exclaimed over the grey boy and set to spoiling him for the day. As if Stark wasn't doing a fine job of that already. He was a charming boy. Clearly got that from his mother.

Stark said a quick hello to Stabby and his crabster offspring who had returned for another year it seemed.

"Now. Tell us everything about your father," a nurse encouraged Neri. Stark just sighed.

The clinic was open and the crab and alien both had kids with them.

Happy Monday, everyone, and if you thought you were sleeping in for your first day of break week, uhhh no you're probably not. There's even a squirrel here drinking extra rum while I watch its super cute little baby squirrel!

There aren't many notes for the day, though. Stark brought his son to try the Skywalker sundae at Chilly Boulder- never something you'll regret- and Gregorith wasn't up on what's happening so he was researching the kid weekend at the museum. Sorry, that's usually one of the first things newbies get told.

That's all I've got. I'm assuming little baby squirrel here has something to do with it. Enjoy the time you have and I hope it's light on the trauma.

Well, today's shift hadn't started off with a movie about a baby dinosaur losing its mother, so already it was on better footing than the last time Irrim had accompanied Liliana to the store. Then Liliana had the brilliant idea to let Irrim choose what bit of merchandise to showcase in the display window today (thus eating up nearly a solid hour while the girl prowled the store in search for the perfect item), and, once that decision had been made, introducing her to the strategy game go. There was still plenty of time for it all to go south, but, for now, a tentative peace reigned.

She'd take it.

Orazca Relic
Because it's cool, that's why.

Irrim's reasoning behind her choice for display item was a little questionable, but her taste was flawless.

Gregorith had been initially puzzled when he hear the radio update. He didn't know Watts and Stephen had kids. Granted it was Stephen's prerogative to volunteer that information or not, but he hadn't struck Gregorith as the type to keep that a secret.

But then he thought he remembered something he'd seen in the museum's archives. Soon enough he found what he was looking for. Records of weekends past where possible future children found their way to the present. There were transcripts of radio broadcasts and some photos.

He chuckled ruefully at the shell shocked expressions on some of the future parents. He also thought of how weird it must have been for the kids, to meet their own parents when they were little more than kids themselves.

He counted himself lucky that he seemed to have been skipped over by this particular event, though part of him was a little sad as well. Just more proof that he was not likely to have a family of his own.

He put on some music and double checked that everything was child safe.

Stark hadn't slept much last night but Neri had eventually fallen asleep mid-sentence after chattering away into the wee hours. There had been pancakes for breakfast and more talking. The boy had stories. So many stories.

They were now seated at a table inside Chilly Boulder waiting for the Skywalker sundae that Neri had ordered.
He'd scoffed at the idea he might not be able to finish it. "Dad. Come on. I know how to eat. Especially ice cream. Especially chocolate!"

Considering the boy's apparent parentage Stark had to agree that a sweet tooth that would never be satisfied did seem incredibly likely.

Again? Really? Alright, alright. I suppose it's payback for being gone for a couple weeks.

Hello, folks. Tony again with the news from yesterday. Rey woke up with Adrian to meet their children. Which apparently no one had warned Adrian about. Oops! Vi and Steph also woke up to a very unimpressedkid. I think that might just be parenthood in a nutshell there. Liliana woke up to a particularly loud kid and Ignis got to discuss the changes between the last time she'd the kid had been around and now. Octavia on the Cape Rouge also had a visitor with mixed reactions of delight from Duke and surprise from Lucifer. Stark went to the Perk, but was also found by a kid of his. Welcome to the weekend for it. Watts and Steven had breakfast with their kids at Midnight Manor.

Well, that's a lot of kids for you. Try not to get too tired from it all, folks!

Stark had gone to bed alone and woken up alone after spending all of last week alone. Now he was at the Perk alone.

All of this was to be expected.

His extremely sugary coffee order with extra whipped cream was also entirely expected. Stark had the coffee and he had a breakfast sandwich even though it was afternoon and he was just sitting, glad to be feeling less restless than he had been for the whole week.

It was shaping up to be a quiet, peaceful sort of day.

Well, folks. It seems things are back to normal...ish. Don't be too surprised if you have a guest showing up sometime today or tomorrow. It's one of those weekends, folks.

Sorry, Steve.

But let's get this going so I can go back to helping out my husband, shall we?

At the school, Thor wisely cancelled the last Combat 101 class. Cupcakes of the World was also cancelled with Stark providing Gatorade and cupcakes to anyone who showed up. Very kind of him. Oh, and we watched a movie for our last class of Overcoming Obstacles.

The dance was remarkably quiet, but then again, I'm sure people were still occupied by the pollen. The squirrels did include that Arden and Cal had a great time of it at least. Over at Blackstone, Henry kept himself busy with forging horseshoes. I mean. It certainly is manual labor to ignore other things. I'll give him that much! Barnes had an evening in with what I'm assuming is quiet contemplation. Or brooding. The squirrels say brooding.

And with all that, I'm out of here. Try to have a good weekend, folks!

As soon as Octavia woke up, just a little too early for a Saturday morning, she knew the pollen was gone again. Nothing buzzed incessantly under her skin, and her partners looked only the usual amount of attractive to her. (Not that 'the usual' wasn't in itself a considerable amount, but, you know.) Everything seemed... calm.

Except for her ability to get back to sleep.

So Octavia got up, quietly. She got the coffee machine running in the galley, and then grabbed one of their yoga mats to take up on deck with her. But then she got up there, and found out she wasn't alone. Someone else was just crossing the gangplank. A teenager, dark hair, even darker clothes.

Octavia's heart skipped a beat. She stopped in her tracks.

"Ha yun, nomon," Rory said, with a crooked smile, a hint of teasing in it. "You look like you've seen a ghost."

Maybe it felt like it, too. The long summer last year had been hard, and even though at the end of it, the Rory that had been around but convinced she was the daughter of the detective and a deadbeat Lucifer had reverted back into their Rory, the memories of her rejection of all of them (and not even recognizing Octavia and Duke) had weighed heavy on Octavia's mind. Still did. You couldn't always rationalize your way out of a wound like that.

But maybe you could overwrite some of it with a weekend.

Octavia shuddered, then launched herself at the girl, grabbing her in the tightest hug possible. Rory made the requisite gently affronted teenage noises about her being ridiculous, but still hugged her back just as tight.

It was, after all, nice to be loved. Even by the weird young versions of your parents.

So, that had been a good week.

Rey could tell immediately upon waking up that the pollen was gone. That halfway buzzing feeling was gone, and she was relieved but also a little sorry about it, even if they didn't exactly need it.

And despite all the closeness this week, she snuggled a little closer to Adrian, because even if she was awake and actually a little hungry, she didn't want to be apart yet. Sure, there were things that she'd needed to do that had gone wholly ignored and she should get to them, but it wasn't like real life was going anywhere.

She'd also historically not had a reason to automatically remember what this weekend tended to be, but it should register in a bit.

Tony and Steve had been distracted this week--go figure--and Friday snuck up on them. Which meant there was a movie set up for the class.

"We meant to come up with a final exam for you all, but... things came up," Tony said, scratching his nose.

Steve was a professional and would not snicker inappropriately at that, but he did shoot Tony a "I see what you did there" look. "So we found a movie that you can enjoy instead of having to focus on anything in particular."

"And then get ready for the dance tonight," Tony added, very much not looking at his husband for professional reasons.

Stark was not having class today. He wasn't that foolish. But he had stopped by the classroom and left some classic yellow cake and chocolate frosting cupcakes for anyone that might come by. He also brought water. And blue Gatorade.

And he was hanging around for a bit in case of... who knows what. It wasn't like he had better things to do this morning.

By Friday, Bucky had unavoidably caught on to what the island was up to. Some previous iterations of this pollen thing had brought with them surreal, feverish dreams of redheads with their faces forever just slightly out of view, but this time --

Well, the redhead had gotten plenty specific.

As had the rest of the details of the dreams.

Guess it showed how much more human he felt, these days? More in tune with his body, with urges that had at one point seemed as lost to time as the rest of him. A faint silver lining.

But the pollen also meant that whatever plans he'd had for seeking Jesse out - not that he'd had many, as evidenced by how he hadn't beelined right to her when he'd returned from Wakanda earlier in the week - were now completely out of the question. She'd made him uncomfortable, the last time they'd talked, but that didn't mean he wanted to make her uncomfortable back. And the pollen, it just felt like it would do exactly that.

So he was just... here.

Hunkered down in the apartment. Out of what he would've called a need for distraction, he'd broken out the record player that a much, much younger version of him had made great use of a long, long time ago when he'd just been a candy store clerk and everything to come had been just a distant, unknowable future. He'd put a record on, and he was on the couch, sipping a glass of whisky that didn't do anything more than his regular beer would have, and yet he'd had the urge to reach for it tonight.

Maybe none of these urges were actually being fueled by a yearning for distraction. Bucky wasn't looking at them too closely, either way. He was humming faintly along to Moonlight Serenade.

And he was feeling like a fool.

[ooc: I have been mostly listening to Glenn Miller today, so this is what you get. Can be open.]

Did Pebbles need all of those horseshoes? Probably not. But perhaps she might, in the future! Perhaps someone else might come in looking to shoe their horse. Who knew?
